Antonio Covello (Italy 1985 -)

Antonio Covello (1985) is an Italian composer based in Paris where he also has been composer-in- residence at the Cité internationale des arts as a fellow of the Ministerium für Kultur und Wissenschaft des Landes Nordrhein-Westfalen (Germany). His music has been performed in Austria, Cyprus, England, France, Germany, Israel, Italy, Luxembourg, Poland Switzerland and USA.

 

He has received various commissions from Da_sh Music, i Transiti, Divertimento Ensemble, HelÄ“na Sorokina (alto voice) – with the support of Styrian Government (Austria) – Ars Fidelis, Ex Novo Musica, Ensemble Musagète and Festival Pontino di Musica and his works have been performed by the orchestra of the HfMT Köln (conductor Alexander Rumpf); Da_sh ensemble (Spain), Divertimento (Italy, conductor Sandro Gorli), i Transiti (Germany), Lucilin (Luxembourg, conductor Serge Kattenmeyer), Neumond (Germany), Reconsil (Austria, conductor Yalda Zamani), risonanze erranti (Germany), Quartetto Prometeo (Italy), rarescale trio (England) and Dúo Xistra (Spain), and soloists such as Henrique Almeida, Maria Grazia Bellocchio, Manon Blanc-Delsalle, Guillaume Bleton, Federica Cassati, Michele Colombo, Eléonore Gagey, Ramon Gardella, Anastasia Grishutina, Elio Herrera, Aya Kono, Antonio Magnatta, Elio Marchesini, Madison Marie McIntosh, Alberto Mesirca, Camila Moukarzel-Ortega, Danilo Perticaro, Vittoria Quartararo, Gregory Ritchey, Daniele Ruggieri, Dario Savron, HelÄ“na Sorokina, Peter Tilling, Raphaël Unger, Esther Valentin and Sébastien Vichard, to name just a few.

 

He studied composition in Milano / Italy with Alessandro Solbiati (Bachelor), in Cologne / Germany with Markus Hechtle (Master and Concert Examination program) and in Krakow / Poland with Anna Zawadzka-Gołosz. He is also graduated in piano at the S. Giacomantonio Conservatory in Cosenza / Italy where he studied with Michele Pisciotta.
